Which Product Is Right For You?
Two technologies, two different floor types. Here's how to choose the right one for your project.
For tiles, stone & screed
Heating mats use a double-insulated cable fixed to a self-adhesive mesh. They are embedded in tile adhesive or screed, making them the ideal choice for hard floor finishes. The cable heats the thermal mass of the tile, which then radiates warmth evenly into the room.
Wet installation — embedded in tile adhesive or self-levelling compound. Flexible cable layout on mesh. Cannot shorten the cable — plan dimensions carefully.
Tools needed:
Heat-up
20–40 minutes
Output
150 W/m²
Heats the screed/tile mass first, then radiates. Slightly higher energy use due to thermal mass.

For laminate, wood & vinyl
Heating foils are ultra-thin graphite strips (<0.5mm) embedded in PET film. They are laid dry under floating floor finishes — no adhesive, no screed, no wet work. The entire surface heats simultaneously, delivering warmth faster and more evenly than cable systems.
Dry installation — no adhesive or screed needed. Cut from roll every 20cm. Two bus bar connections per strip. XPS insulation board recommended underneath for efficiency.
Tools needed:
Heat-up
5–15 minutes
Output
80–220 W/m²
Heats the entire surface instantly. Faster heat-up means less running time and lower energy bills.

Foil Wattage Guide
The wattage determines how quickly your floor heats up and whether it can serve as the primary heat source. Here's how to choose.
All three foil variants heat the same way — the difference is how much power they deliver per square metre. Higher wattage means faster heat-up and the ability to maintain warmth in colder or less-insulated spaces.
Versatile all-rounder
The 110W foil is the most versatile option — it works as both a primary and secondary heat source in most standard rooms. Suitable for homes built in the last 20 years with moderate insulation. If you're unsure which wattage to choose, the 110W is the safe default for kitchens, hallways, and living areas.
Very poorly insulated rooms or unheated basements — consider 220W for those

Is this the only heating in the room?
You need at least 110W, probably 220W if insulation is poor.
80W or 110W is sufficient — the floor heating is a supplement.
Is the room well-insulated (built after 2000)?
80W or 110W will be sufficient.
Choose 220W to compensate for heat loss.
